Step by step application

We explain the process of registration for studies at UKSW.

Full-time studies

Studies involving a qualification procedure (a ranking list is created on the basis of specific criteria)

  1. Register on www.irk.uksw.edu.pl and fill in the necessary details.
  2. Register to the field(s) of study of your choice.
  3. Pay the application fee.
  4. Wait for publication of your score and approval status:
    • “Approved” – you can submit your documents to the Faculty,
    • “Backup List” – wait for possible moves on the ranking list in the following rounds of the procedure. Unless you can see an express message telling you that you are eligible to submit your documents in the first round,
    • “Not approved” means that you are no longer admitted to the application process.

4a. If you have been approved or you can see a message that you are eligible for submission of documents in your candidate account – deliver your submission within the time limit set by the respective Faculty.

  2. Register to the field(s) of study of your choice.
  3. Pay the application fee.

Continuation in the same field of study

Candidates who are graduates of a first-cycle study course, certified with a diploma, willing to continue their studies in the same field, are approved on the basis of the average of their grades from the course of study (applicable to the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. School of Exact Sciences).

Candidates who do not have a diploma certifying completion of a first-cycle study course or a long-cycle course in the same field of study are approved on the basis of an entrance exam, which has the form of an interview (applicable to the average of their grades from the course of study (applicable to the following fields of study: Mathematics, Physics, Information Sciences, Chemistry at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. School of Exact Sciences).

Studies in a related field

Candidates who are graduates of a first-cycle study course or long-cycle studies and have a diploma in at least one field from the list of related fields of study are approved on the basis of the average of their grades from the course of study (only applicable to the fields of study at the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Sciences).

Candidates who do not have a diploma certifying completion of a first-cycle study course or long-cycle studies in at least one field from the list of related fields of study are approved on the basis of an entrance exam in the form of an interview (applicable to the following fields of study: Biology and Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Sciences).

In the case of admissions to studies at the Faculty of Theology (Journalism and Social Communication, specialized studies in theology), the final result of the admissions procedure has two component parts:

  • Score based on the average of the student’s grades throughout the course of study (50% of the final score in the admissions procedure),
  • Score based on the entrance exam in the form of an interview (50% of the final score in the admissions procedure).

Admissions at the remaining Faculties are based on the average of the student’s grades throughout the course of study.

Details of admissions to specific second-cycle fields of study, by Faculty:

  • Faculty of Biology and Environmental Sciences: Biology, Environmental Engineering
  • Faculty of Christian Philosophy: Philosophy, Environmental Protection
  • Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. School of Exact Sciences: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Information Sciences
  • Faculty of History: Archeology, History, Art History, Management of Cultural Heritage
  • Faculty of Humanities: Polish Philology, Classical Philology, Italian Philology, Cultural Studies
  • Faculty of Education: Pedagogy
  • Faculty of Law and Administration: Administration, Security in the Digital Economy, International Relations and International Law
  • Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences: Internal Security
  • Faculty of Family Studies: Family Studies
  • Faculty of Theology: Journalism and Social Communication, Specialized Theological Studies.

Part-time studies

Admission to this course of study is determined by the order of submissions – after registration in IRK and payment of the admission fee, candidates submit their documents within the time limits set by the respective Faculties until the admissions limit is reached.

These include:

  • Part-time studies in all fields of study except: Pedagogy, Preschool and Early School Pedagogy, Special Pedagogy, Medicine, Psychology
  • Full-time Specialized Theological Studies (in English)

  2. Register to the field(s) of study of your choice.
  3. Pay the application fee.
  4. Submit your documents within the time limit stated by the Faculty.

Available until the admissions limit is reached.

Studies involving a qualification procedure (a ranking list is created on the basis of specific criteria)

Admissions for studies involving a qualification procedure, specifically: Medicine, Psychology, Pedagogy, Special Pedagogy, and Preschool and Early School Pedagogy follow the same rules as those applicable to full-time first-cycle and long-cycle studies.

Admission to these studies is determined by the order of submissions – after registration in IRK and payment of the admission fee, candidates submit their documents within the time limits set by the respective Faculties until the admissions limit is reached.

Admissions for studies involving a qualification procedure at the Faculty of Education follow the same rules as those applicable to full-time second-cycle studies.

PART-TIME STUDIES

(For Specialized Theological Studies in English)

  1. Register on www.irk.uksw.edu.pl and fill in the necessary details.
  2. Register to the field(s) of study of your choice.
  3. Pay the application fee.
  4. Unless you have a certificate of the command of the English language on level B2, you have to take a language exam.
  5. Submit your documents within the specified time at the specified place.
