At the W\u00f3ycicki Campus we welcomed over 70 international students from 13 countries who will be studying at UKSW during the winter semester of the 2025\u20132026 academic year as part of the Erasmus+ programme.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of the Welcome Meeting was to familiarize students with the rules, requirements, and formalities of studying at our university within the Erasmus+ programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aleksandra Zaj\u0105c, Director of the Office for International Cooperation, welcomed the students arriving at UKSW under the Erasmus+ programme.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting agenda included a campus tour as well as a visit to the Welcome Centre and the Office for International Department. Participants attended presentations about Poland, Warsaw, and UKSW, and learned about the opportunities offered by the Welcome Centre. The latter part of the meeting featured presentations by representatives of the UKSW Student Council and the UKSW Erasmus Student Network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UKSW Welcome Centre has been operating since September 2023. It is responsible for organizing the stay of international students, doctoral candidates, and academic staff at our university. It supports the adaptation process at both the university and in Poland, particularly in Warsaw. International guests and students at UKSW can count on assistance with administrative and day-to-day matters. Welcome Centre staff also coordinate initiatives aimed at integrating foreigners into the academic community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Education, integration, fun<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

International students at our university are also supported by the Erasmus Student Network. UKSW\u2019s branch is part of the international Erasmus Student Network, which brings together 42 countries. For eighteen years, it has been working to support international students at UKSW, helping them find their way both at the university and in Warsaw more broadly. The organization hosts cultural events, group outings, and trips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students participating in the Erasmus+ programme are beginning their journey at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“As representatives of the Erasmus Student Network, we help international students find their way around Warsaw and introduce them to Polish culture, customs, and traditions” said Matylda Kowalak, a biotechnology student at the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Sciences at UKSW and Lider of the UKSW Erasmus Student Network
“Erasmus Student Network is all about education, integration, and having fun. We organize events that allow our guests to connect with UKSW students as well as with students from other universities.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First steps at UKSW \u2013 during the campus tour at W\u00f3ycicki<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the winter semester, more than 70 Erasmus+ students from 13 countries \u2013 not only European \u2013 will study at UKSW. We are hosting students from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Sudan, Egypt, France, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Romania. The largest groups are from Italy (22 students) and Spain (14 students). The most popular faculties among them are the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences (21 students) and the Faculty of Law and Administration (12 students).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Giovanni<\/strong>, from Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Napoli \u201cL\u2019Orientale\u201d<\/em>, chose our university with full conviction, as a future teacher. He is especially looking forward to attending classes in Italian Philology at the Faculty of Humanities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peter<\/strong>, who studies history at Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universit\u00e4t<\/em>, selected UKSW as his first choice because his home university collaborates with our Faculty of Historical Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Francesco<\/strong>, also from Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Napoli \u201cL\u2019Orientale\u201d<\/em>, studying political science at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences is an important milestone in what he described as his professional path. He plans to work in an international teaching environment, so learning about different cultures and meeting students from around the world is especially important to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hermela<\/strong>, originally from Ethiopia, studies at L\u2019Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Cassino e del Lazio Meridionale<\/em>. She chose to study Administration at the Faculty of Law and Administration at UKSW due to its modern, practical approach and the strong sense of academic community at our university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fidan<\/strong>, from Q\u0259rbi Kaspi Universiteti<\/em> in Azerbaijan, will study political science on what he described as a wonderful, modern campus, where he hopes to meet students from different countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tedi<\/strong>, from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski<\/em>, was encouraged to take part in Erasmus+ at UKSW\u2019s Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences by the interesting offer of sociology courses. From the very beginning of her stay, she felt that Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University is a great place for both personal development and pursuing academic passions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erasmus+<\/strong> is an educational exchange programme within the European Union. It offers students the opportunity to study abroad for a part of their degree at a partner university. They can also complete internships or graduate placements in foreign enterprises, research institutes, laboratories, or organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
