On September 27, 2024, as part of the NAWA project Direction@UKSW! Development of Internationalization at UKSW through comprehensive support for foreign students and academic staff, a training session titled “Joint Studies in University Practice” was conducted by Ms. Maria Niewiara – a legal counsel, certified English translator, and staff member of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. She has extensive experience in establishing and managing study programs and drafting university regulations.
The training program addressed various important topics, including the legal framework for conducting joint studies, the challenges posed by the diversity of English terminology and how it affects the implementation of joint programs at Polish universities, the key components of agreements related to joint studies, the procedures for preparing and issuing diplomas for joint programs, as well as the reporting obligations of universities managing joint studies within project frameworks.
The session provided practical insights into managing joint studies, and the trainer thoroughly addressed participants’ questions and concerns. Staff members from the International Relations Office, the Teaching Support Center, and the Learning Department participated in the training.
The Project funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange under the Welcome to Poland Programme (2022).
