The Institute operates at the Faculty of Historical Sciences of UKSW.

The Institute operates at the Faculty of Historical Sciences of UKSW. The UKSW Institute of History, established in 1999, conducts research significant for Polish science. UKSW historians win significant research grants.

The Institute owes many scientific and didactic achievements to professors who deal with military history, political changes in Poland after 1945, and the history of the Church in Poland in the 20th century. Employees of the UKSW Institute of History are members of prestigious scientific, expert, local government and institutional bodies in Poland and abroad.

The Institute publishes the journal “Saeculum Christianum”, which is renowned in the scientific community.

In conducting scientific research, the Institute cooperates with many entities in the country and abroad, including the National Library, the Central Archives of Historical Records in Warsaw, the Institute of National Remembrance, Roman Dmowski and Ignacy Jan Paderewski Institute of National Thought Heritage, church archives in Poland, and universities from Zagreb, Iași, Budapest and Lviv.
