Institute of Chemical Sciences

The Institute is a unit of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. UKSW School of Science.

The Institute of Chemical Sciences conducts research in the field of, among others, the analysis of photoactive molecules and nanostructure, the synthesis of potential photosensitizers for photodynamic therapy and fluorescent sensors, and the synthesis of new porphycene derivatives.

UKSW chemists also analyze the molecular structures of inclusion compounds and porous crystals, the catalytic properties of metals and metal alloys, and the thermal properties of plastics.

The unit has modern specialized research laboratories and didactic laboratories, located in the UKSW  Masovia Laboratory Center for Natural Sciences. It cooperates with other scientific units in the field of natural sciences. It undertakes activities aimed at the commercialization of scientific activity.

The unit is responsible for educating full-time and part-time students in the field of Chemistry. It is also authorized to confer doctoral degrees in the discipline of exact and natural sciences in the field of chemistry.
