Institute of Pedagogy

The unit has been operating at UKSW since 2002 as a result of the transformation of the Salesian Institute of Christian Education. As the Saint John Bosco Institute of Pedagogy, it first entered the structures of the Faculty of Humanities, to later become the pillar of the newly created Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences.

The employees of the unit conduct research in the field of upbringing, education and social rehabilitation of children, adolescents and adults.

The unit conducts scientific activity within eight departments: preschool and early childhood education, special pedagogy, social pedagogy, history of upbringing and education, psychological foundations of upbringing, social rehabilitation and social prevention, as well as philosophy and sociology of upbringing, as well as general pedagogy and didactics.

The Institute publishes the scientific journal “Forum Pedagogiczne”.
