Institute of Philosophy

The Institute of Philosophy operates at the Faculty of Christian Philosophy of UKSW.

The Institute of Philosophy was established in 1999 as a result of the transformation of the Academy of Catholic Theology into the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University. Two philosophical schools were formed in the Institute: the school of consistent Thomism and the school of natural philosophy.

The Institute publishes the semi-annual “Studia Philosophiae Christianae” and publishing series: “Miscellanea Logika”, “Z zagadnień filozofii przyrodoznawstwa i filozofii przyrody”, “Studia z filozofii Boga, religii i człowieka” or “Opera Philosophorum Medii Aevii”.

The scientific activity of students is related to the work of four scientific circles: the Scientific Circle of Philosophy Students, the Scientific Circle of Students of the Philosophy of Nature, the Student Logic Circle and the Scientific Circle of Metaphysicians.

Currently, first- and second-cycle studies, as well as doctoral studies, are conducted in the field of philosophy.
