According to the information provided by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education published on the website www.nauka.gov.pl, the most important areas through which science is financed are:
- strategic scientific research and development works managed by the National Centre for Research and Development and other tasks carried out by the Centre
- statutory activity, including research carried by the given institution and maintenance of special research equipment
- investments contributing to scientific research and development works
- scientific cooperation with foreign partner institutions
- activities supporting research (through development, promotion and practical application of science)
- programmes or initiatives determined by the Ministry
Selected projects carried out at the UKSW
In the last two years the UKSW scientists have obtained over 37 million zlotys for scientific research. The number of grants implemented at the University was 244. The main research areas at UKSW are focused on psychology, law and administration, history, archaeology, literary studies, theology and sciences.
Commercialization of research
Copyright management, derivative and industrial propriety rights, principles of commercialization, results of scientific research and development works carried out at the UKSW, as well as the know-how connected to these results have been determined in document: Regulations – Resolution nr 88/2015 UKSW Senate.
The Regulations are applicable to the results obtained in the framework of scientific research or development works together with the know- how connected to these results in relation to:
- academic staff whose responsibilities are entirely or partially linked to work of intellectual nature
- academic staff whose employment contract entails clauses on services of intellectual nature or whose consent has been given
- co-creators of intellectual property who are obliged to confirm their position with the University
- students, doctoral students or other persons who are not bound by the agreement between the University and the student or a doctoral student.
Administrative services
Formal support in the scope of commercialization and patent protection is assured by the Centre for Development Initiatives, in particular in the form of assistance in preparing documentation patent application and providing advice and information.
