Statutory research
Since 2012 the amount of earmarked subsidy for maintaining the research potential awarded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education has been growing successively. In 2015 this amount has been over 72% higher than the amount gained inn 2012.
Over 260 research projects have been carried out on the basis of the subsidy in 2015. In the period 2012-2015 approximately 10 mln PLN were raised to maintain the research potential of the universityt. These resources enabled the realization of over 1000 research projects.
The increase of the specific grant project for conducting scientific research or development works and interconnected activities is beneficial for young scientists and participants of the doctorate studies. At present more than 100 scientific projects are being carried out.

They are run by young scientists thanks to the amount of the subsidy granted in 2012 which is 11% higher than the one from 2015. In the years 2012-2015 approximately 4 mln PLN have been raised for research conduced by young scientists and the students of doctoral studies. The amount has been allocated to carry out more than 400 scientific projects.

National Programme for the Development of Humanities
The UKSW academic staff is also active in scientific projects financed by the National Programme for the Development of Humanities (NPRH). Almost 6 mln PLN, which constitutes the total budget of 10 grants financed by the NPRH and which are all carried out by the staff of the UKSW. At present 7 projects of key importance for the Polish humanities are being conducted.
Grants
Scientific activity of students, students of doctorate studies and academic staff of the UKSW is also financed through research projects i.e. Diamond Grants which ire of the most prestigious Polish projects directed to the young scientists.
Young scientists from the UKSW are also among the award winners of scholarships from the Lannkorońskich Foundation, as well as of the Monografie contest organized by the Foundation for Polish Science. What is more, projects are carried out in the scope of the funds of the Polish-German Foundation for Science and in the framework of the scholarship of the American Psychological Foundation.
